According to Tips.Net, there are some household cleaners that may do the trick. For example, you can make a paste out of baking soda and apply it to the windshield. Simply mix baking soda with water, let it dry on the glass, and wipe off with warm water. Avoid getting the baking soda on the paint, as this may cause damage.
Some detailers suggest degreaser for bugs that leave residue. This is best for the smudges that don’t just seem to come off, especially from particularly juicy bugs. WD-40 makes a special degreaser (make sure you don’t accidently get the lubricant), while companies like Simple Green make less volatile solutions.
For bugs that simply won’t come off, olive oil may do the trick. The oil works best if you soak a rag in it and vigorously wipe the window. The oil will make your car dirty, so it’s best to do this before you head to the car wash. However, when you’re done, your windshield should be clean.

Jack Roush is a big name in the racing game. Roush has been the manager of many racing teams over the years and has helped top race car drivers win. He also has plenty of knowledge about what it takes under-the-hood to make a great performing vehicle, which is how he created the ROUSH Mustang.
With all of this knowledge, Roush went to Ford in 1988 with his first Mustang idea. He dreamt up a powerful vehicle with a 400 horsepower turbocharged engine. But, at this time Ford thought that its production would simply be too expensive.
Roush didn’t give up on his dream Mustang, though. In 1995, he created ROUSH Performance Products, which served as a specialty-vehicle company. His team used their production and performance knowledge to create cars that could rip up the race track while still being street-friendly.
The first generation of ROUSH Mustangs was available through the 1998 model year and came in three stages (Stage 3 being the most advanced performance-wise). When the second generation rolled around, even more packages were added like the Sport, Rally, and Premium packages.
Ever since they debuted, ROUSH Mustangs have been a hit. The latest ROUSH Mustang is part of the fourth generation and offers more updates than ever, like integrated aero-pockets and a five-blade upper grille.
Every year, the Ford Freedom Award is presented to African Americans who have been influential in the arts community. Ford paired up with the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History to decide on 2017’s winner of the Ford Freedom Award.
This year’s theme for the awards was, “Talents That Unite! African Americans Bring Diverse Communities Together Across America.” The theme aimed to acknowledge the impact that talented artists have had on the arts community.
The 2017 Ford Freedom Award went to the playwright August Wilson. While Wilson is no longer living, the vitality of his work, primarily his play Fences, has had in the theatre community and African American community continues to remain powerful.
Animator Floyd Norman was named the Ford Freedom Award Scholar, an award that’s given to current talents in the arts community who are making a difference. Floyd Norman is the first African American hired at Disney, and has since become an award-winning animator. He helped create Vignette Films, a company that produces black history films that are shown in high schools.
The amazing success of both Wilson and Norman doesn’t only inspire those in the art community, but inspires all of us to be courageous and never give up on our dreams.

The Ford Focus RS hatch is a big deal in the American market, as we don’t get many sporty European hatchback models equipped for high-end performance capabilities. The Team O’Neil Rally School wanted to put the RS model to the test, however, by pitting it against a Subaru Impreza STI rally car in the snow. The Focus RS was only slightly modified while the STI had heavy changes that put it at an advantage against its competitor, but the fact remains that the RS was able to hold its own.
With smaller brakes to fit rally tires and 15-inch wheels, a skid plate, and Bilstein shocks, the Ford Focus RS took on the Prodrive-built Open Class Subaru with no other tweaks besides the fact that its ABS had been disabled. The RS eventually fell behind its competitor, but not by much – and the goal of Team O’Neil was not to beat the STI, anyway. Their intention was to see how the Focus RS fared on icy roads against an actual rally car so they’d know how to modify the RS to make it rally-ready.
Will we see a Ford Focus RS hatch turned into a rally car from Team O’Neil soon? Only time will tell. Despite the RS model’s loss against the STI champion, the fact that a production hatchback held its own against a modded rally car is impressive in its own right.
The 2017 Ford F-150 is getting a new powertrain, including an exciting EcoBoost engine that’s been in the works for nearly two years. Ford engineers have been working hard to provide the best combination of efficiency and power, finally developing this innovative breakthrough that’s bound to satisfy any driver.
According to MSN, the new Ford F-150 engine options will include a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine with EcoBoost technology. Although the power plant will still generate the same 365 horsepower as its predecessor, it will get an increase of torque to 450 lb-ft. The new EcoBoost has direct and port fuel injection, as well as an electronically actuated wastegate system.

Paired with this new engine is a 10-speed automatic transmission, specially designed to handle the increase of torque. Interestingly, Ford collaborated with GM to co-develop this new transmission, which promises to optimize power and efficiency, especially when heavy loads are involved. This fall, the 2017 Ford F-150 will make its debut. For buyers who choose the new 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, they’ll get a new 10-speed transmission, too. This all-new transmission will deliver more torque and better acceleration for the F-150.
Ford says the torque will increase to 450 lb-ft, a best-in-class number for a V6 engine. This is an increase of 30 lb-ft over the first-generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. In addition, the new transmission is the first volume-produced 10-speed transmission available from any automaker.

To save weight in the new transmission, engineers used advanced materials and alloys in place of cast-iron components. In addition, an integrated torque converter/turbine clutch cuts down another 2 pounds and makes the transmission slightly smaller.

With the Tesla 3 and Chevy Bolt grabbing headlines – you know it’s only a matter of time until Ford puts out their own long-range electric vehicle, likely a model that will best the competition with the very latest fuel efficiency technology.
In a recent conference call with investors, Ford CEO Mark Fields commented on the auto company’s future, concerning electric vehicles with more than 200 miles of range, saying, “When you look at some of the competitors and what they’ve announced, clearly, that’s something we’re developing for.”
Of course, Fields didn’t elaborate much on those development plans, but it’s safe to assume that a long-range Ford EV is in the works to be released sometime in the next few years or so, if not sooner.
Fields expanded in the conference call, saying that Ford aims to always be “among the leaders or in a leadership position” when it comes to the hottest vehicle tech, a statement backed up by years of top-notch Ford sales.

Ford recently souped-up its investment in alternative energy solutions. In fact, the company invested a whopping $4.5 billion in electrified vehicle solutions – you heard right. This is one of the biggest investments the company has allotted for this area, revealing just how committed Ford is to eco-friendly solutions.
According to Ford, the brand will add 13 new electrified vehicles to its lineup by 2020, meaning that more than 40% of the company’s tried-and-true models will get an electric version. Ford electrified vehicle solutions will focus on fast charging and new designs as well.
“The challenge going forward isn’t who provides the most technology in a vehicle but who best organizes that technology in a way that most excites and delights people,” said Raj Nair, executive vice president, Product Development. “By observing consumers, we can better understand which features and strengths users truly use and value and create even better experiences for them going forward.”

Ford is using the latest research from St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University to advance Ford wireless technology in future vehicles. The large-scale research project, performed jointly by Ford and St. Petersburg, was aimed at improving vehicle technologies and utilized the university’s expertise in space robot communications. Ford has filed several patents based on the results of the research that will help to develop the technology in connected cars.
